THE SPRING PLANT STALL

The Lane Cove Bushland and Conservation Society holds a Plant Stall in Lane Cove Plaza every year in Spring and Autumn to raise awareness about native plants and bushland in urban areas and raise funds for bushland conservation.  The next Plant Stall will be held on Saturday 16 September from 9 am to 12 noon.

Society members provide advice and information leaflets about native plants indigenous to the Sydney region with a specific focus on how to grow them in Lane Cove. The plants and tube stock are sourced from a number of small nurseries, among them the Cornucopia Cafe and Nursery at Gladesville. They provide employment for people with disabilities and propagate seed from native trees, shrubs and groundcovers as well as herbs and vegetables that they use in their cafe kitchen.

Newcomers to the area aware of Lane Cove’s greenery but not familiar with how to preserve and encourage it are most welcome.  Even if you are not buying plants, have a chat with the Society’s members on the stall.
